Some Aren't

Some attractions are immediate. Love at first sight, if you will.

For Wheelie and Mudflap, this was not so. The first time Wheelie rolled into the Autobot hangar, Mikaela at his side, he looked disdainfully at the Autobots, and they glowered back. Mudflap was no exception, despite the fact that he had seen the former Decepticon quite a bit. In fact, he and his twin, Skids, went as far as to mock Wheelie.

No, their attraction was built upon months of repeatedly being pushed together for missions. They were the smallest, youngest, and least experienced, so more experienced people like Optimus Prime saw it fit that they work together. At first, this was a constant annoyance, and the twins backed into their own corner, leaving Wheelie alone. In fact, the only reason Mudflap even began communicating with Wheelie was because Skids was called away.

Two months after Wheelie induction as an Autobot a message came from the twins’ father. It was of urgent importance that Skids go to him immediately.

Alone.

This was horrifying. The twins had never been separated.

So, Mudflap was desperate when he went to Wheelie for consolation. Wheelie was desperate, too, really. He had finally realized that a future between him and Mikaela was impossible. They were brought together by a common conflict.

It wasn’t long before they began the casual sex. It was Wheelie’s idea, and Mudflap didn’t resist. It helped take away some of the pain, keep their minds off things. They rarely had to actually talk. They just met up in secluded areas, had the sex, and went on.

They began talking months later. Sometimes they would skip the sex and just talk. It was nice, in a way, and that was when they actually started going out. It was over a year since they’d met.

Some attractions are instant.
